I love wine. LOVE it. One of the best pieces of news I ever got was from my doctor telling me I should consider having a glass of dry red each night for my heart. Granted I was 26 and learning that I needed to take care of my youthful ticker probably isn’t great but hey, I basically left that appointment with a prescription for wine, so I shan’t complain.

Aside from my love of the great concoction made of rotten grapes, I am also *really* cheap. I buy all my clothes on sale or at TJ Maxx, I choose grocery store brand over name brand ALWAYS, and my idea of a pricy bottle of vino is about $30.

Hence the name of this blog, I literally looked “frugal” up in the thesaurus and found penurious. So here we are.

Aside from now being famiar with my spending habits, here’s another juicy tidbit for you, I know nothing fancy about wine. I know what I like and usually what I don’t like (Reisling, I’m looking at you) and that’s about it. But that doesn’t stop me from trying new things and developing my own creative way to describe them.

So, if you’re cheap and/or broke and also know nothing about wine but you want an idea of what to buy the next time you’re trying to impress a friend, or a date, or your date’s parents, you’ve come to the right place.

Just me and my good friend, Malbec.
